  1. Do I have the right people in the right seat? 

Right people = they share your values 

Right seat = they perform at their best and deliver the results you need 


  1. Do I have clarity on what is the One Thing that I need to nail this year? (and ask this every Jan)

1 BHAG (big hairy audacious goal) is better than 5 

Same is true for your OKRs


  1. How am I complicit in creating the conditions I say I don't want? (credit to Tim Ferriss for this one) 

An underperforming employee => you manage them 

Slow decision-making => you model analysis paralysis 

A weak leadership team => you hired them (and maybe you are slow firing / layering anyone) 


  1. Are we working on the right problem or what’s attractive to investors? 

Because at some point every CEO has to solve this dilemma. 


  1. Is it just me or everyone else feels this way? 

Impostor syndrome is real and a lot more common than you think.
